AgriDrone Services are currently exploring the use of XAG drones for spraying, spreading and seeding. Our pilots are fully qualified to operate these machines and hold the CAA/LANTRA Approved Remote Pilot and Drone Spraying Certification. This is the only course in the UK that permits the use of agricultural drones for spraying, spreading and seeding.
XAG’s agricultural drones have only recently been introduced to the UK by AutoSpray Systems. Although the technology is established across many other countries, British farming is still very new to the idea and a lot of work needs to be done in order for drone spraying to be adopted.
Unfortunately, MAPP numbered products cannot be applied via drone due to current legislation, however this is expected to change in the near future. At the moment, we can spread seed, fertiliser, nutrients and biostimulants, with the main benefits in farming being for variable rate application, over-seeding, spot spraying and accessing difficult terrain.
